Technology and Design
A flawed design can result when a designer's perception of design and a user's perception of design are out of sorts or a user's requirements have been ignored.
Usability testing is a method for identifying flaws that interfere with ease of physical use for the expert, power and disabled user; and ease of learning for beginners and intermittent users. Usability testing is most effective when conducted during the design phase so the bugs can be worked out prior to a product's release.
Services
- Conduct usability test to extract, analyzed, diagnose and categorize design problems. Formulate written report complete with recommendations.
- Conduct a hierarchial task analysis using the 'User Action Framework' as a basis for identifying and proposing physical, cognitive, sensory and functional affordances to optimize task efficiency, effectiveness, safety and independence.
- Develop a registery to identify and categorize design problems. Identify the major category of design problems and determine the type of specialized input that may required (for example, ergonomist or Human Computer Interaction expert).
- Conduct focus groups to identify user requirements, ways of improving usability, acceptability and functionality of device.
